Random pictures from the past few days

off today, but i worked 3.5 hours

went with gabe to ride the rides on monday morning.

took the raptor again before it broke down for the day. heh.

"Guests ride in cars that are suspended from the track above. Specially designed seats allow passengers' legs to dangle, providing the sensation of flight. Aiding that is the fact that riders go upside down six amazing times! The highlight is a first-of-its-kind cobra-roll, a thrilling element that flips riders over, spirals them upside down into a 180-degree roll and repeats the twisting motion in reverse. Looming 137 feet above the Main Midway and reaching a top speed of 57 mph, Raptor is one of the tallest and fastest inverted roller coasters in the world. "

wicked twister was really really really good, one moment you're facing the sky, the next you're facing the ground... like vertically.

"Wicked Twister is the tallest and fastest "double-twisting" impulse roller coaster ever created. This steel giant is comprised of a U-shaped track with the ends reaching 215 feet into the air and is powered by a linear induction motor. Riders sit two abreast in specially designed seats suspended from the track above. Then, without warning, Wicked Twister launches riders forward out of the station and up a 90-degree, twisting steel track. Once the train slows to a stop, it streaks back down the structure and into the station before being launched backward up another twisting track. The train races up and down the track a total of five times at an amazing top speed of 72 mph! But that is not all. Each tower twists 450 degrees, providing one of the most unique ride experiences ever. "

MaXair made me sick though.. it's like a giant pendulum which rotates and swings.

took the mantis again, the standing roller coaster, but i was really sitting cos i was too short. heh. not a ride for guys though..

"Stand up to your fears aboard Mantis. Built in 1996, Mantis is one of the tallest and fastest stand-up scream machines in the world.
Built by the same legendary manufacturers that brought guests the Raptor roller coaster, Bolliger and Mabillard (B & M), Monthey, Switzerland, Mantis is yet another unique ride experience at Cedar Point. Guests board high-tech trains and fly down a 145-foot-tall first hill at an outrageous top speed of 60 mph, all while standing up! That's right, standing up!
In 2005, 1,139,186 guests conquered their fears and rode the Mantis, with more than 13 million riding since it first opened 10 seasons ago. Mantis riders must be at least 54 inches tall.
May not accommodate Guests of Exceptional Size.Loose articles are not permitted on this ride. "

some pics from the employee welcome party on monday night. there were free hotdogs, chips, waterbottles, and cups. so like typical singaporeans, all of us were there... haha.

it was the skyhawk ride night too, which we took like 3 times... it's a mega swing with a super good view especially when you're being swung up into the night sky...

waiting in line for the ride. it was freezing i tell u. all i had was my white giodano tee and the thin windbreaker. everyone else was so wrapped up... sheesh.

no good pictures of the skyhawk cos it was too dark.. next time next time

"In 2006, Cedar Point has added a world-record-breaking thrill ride – Skyhawk. Located near Snake River Falls in Frontiertown and standing 103 feet above the ground, Skyhawk is the tallest ride of its kind in the world.
Skyhawk features two giant swinging arms, each 84 feet in length, with 20 seats on each arm. Each set of 20 seats consists of two rows of 10 seats, positioned back to back, that provide each rider with a “front row” view. Using pneumatic technology similar to that used on Power Tower, riders are thrilled as they are pushed toward the sky, then experience weightlessness as they reverse direction and rush back toward the ground – just like the drop side of a roller coaster – with no ride structure in their path. At the peak of the arc, riders on Skyhawk are more than 125 feet in the air and reach speeds of 60 mph in both directions! The $6 million ride gives nearly 800 rides an hour. Each ride is approximately one minute long. "
